Co-founder and Artistic Director of Paris re Made, a fashion brand that redesigns vintage pieces and designer fabrics
I have always found that clothes tell a story. Their aesthetics and construction convey a fragility and emotions. By creating Paris re Made, I decided to express, non verbally, my love for vintage and slow fashion.
How did your project start?
To RE appreciate clothes/ items that people don’t want anymore.
Creating a community that embraces the concept of RE creating.
What are your goals in terms of sustainable development?
We started by using vintage products, dormant stocks or scraps to create or design new items.
At the same time, we try to work more and more with suppliers who are conscious of their materials and product development.
We find solutions along the way for production in a circular approach.
Our goal is to extend our concept of renewable use and creation to other areas, not just fashion.
What is your major challenge in terms of improvement within a 2-year horizon?
Changing the mindset of buyers and consumers in the way they buy and look at products.
The challenge of RE approaching the old fashion way of working in seasons and trends.
Your definition of “Sustainable Luxury”
From Paris RE Made point of view:
-(RE) appreciation of knowing the value of the product that you buy and use.
In General:
-Being aware of how, who and where your product comes from. To value the story behind it is true luxury for me.
Why join 1.618?
Because I LOVE Barbara ( haha)
Seriously:
There are so many products out in the world that claims to be sustainable.
It is good there is something like 1.618 that supports and creates a community for sustainable products.
They check up with the sustainability/ circular story and process behind the product they support. Giving the consumers a trusted label.
What is the meaning of your name?
Paris RE Made: The meaning and message behind is very clear and simple, the collections/ designs are RE made in Paris. We are based in Paris.
We did not want to complicate things. Nowadays the best is to be straight forward and just say it like it is.
