Led since 1989 by its founder Oskar Metsavaht, OSKLEN is a rare example of a Brazilian luxury brand with a long been committed to making its country’s nature and urban lifestyle compatible. Its work on materials and traceability, in partnership with the Instituto-E that the brand created, is exemplary. Of particular note is its “Pirarucu Sustainability Project”, which offers products made from Pirarucu leather, the giant Amazonian fish saved from extinction by an ambitious breeding and reintroduction programme carried out with local populations.

L'anecdote de 1.618

Osklen and 1.618 have a long history together.
Barbara Coignet, our founder, was Osklen's press officer in France, and Oskar Metsavhat was one of the first supporters of the 1.618 project.
Sharing a taste for beauty and the same values, they decided to launch 1.618 in Rio in 2013.
The social movements in Brazil at the time decided otherwise.
They share a love for Brazil, the golden number, art and 'sustentabilidade'!

"The Earth is the mother of all peoples and all peoples must have equal rights."
